After 32 years of living all over the United States, she returned back to OK and now calls Ponca City her home. As a small child she knew she wanted to be an artist and attended TWU to pursue her one true love…ART. After ending a career in film & TV and once her son moved off to go to college, she decided to focus on her greatest passion full time. |
Artist's Statement
As an artist, I am driven to create works of art that express my love of the world around me, but mostly the people in my world. I believe that everyone is unique and colorful! I strive to show their true inner beauty in every piece I create. I am drawn to people who are not your typical, classic beauties by societies' standards; but rather the ones that are "different." I try to capture their exquisiteness through color and movement, while conveying a brief moment in their life's journey. The challenge is not to create a caricature but rather express their individualism.
Examples of Artist's Work
My portraits of people and animals are a mix of expressionism and realism. I try to evoke an emotional response through the use of color and bold brushstrokes.
