The Community heART Project is an art installation comprised of nearly 100 hearts decorated by members of Ponca City and the surrounding area, showing the both the diversity and connection in our community. Be sure to stop by now through February 26th to see the "hearts of Ponca City" and join us for the closing reception February 26th from 4-6pm.

This exhibition celebrates the diverse talents and creative voices of local and regional artists, showcasing a wide range of styles and mediums. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5–7 pm at the John McNeese Gallery, located at 400 E. Central Avenue, Ponca City.

ANTHEA WITH ARTIST DENAE SMITH

Anthea was featured in the John McNeese Gallery in January 2026, showcasing the work of Oklahoma-born visual artist Denae Smith. The title, meaning “blossomed” or “brought into being,” reflects Smith’s acrylic mixed media practice, which blends realism, abstraction, and surrealism to explore personal identity and cultural memory. Her layered works incorporate materials such as dried flowers, fabric, and plaster, creating surfaces that move between two- and three-dimensional space. Smith has exhibited in galleries throughout Oklahoma City, participated as a muralist in the Sunny Dayz Mural Festival, and has shown most recently at Red Dot Miami.
