Theresa Sacket was born in Joliet, Illinois, and moving at the age of six to the small town of South Haven, KS; she learned early to enjoy change and to adapt to new environments and establish new friendships. Moving again at the age of 14 to Ponca City, OK (where she currently resides) she found comfort in a home base although she loves traveling and experiencing other cultures.

Married Jeremy Sacket in 2006 and together they have 3 children. They have lived in and around Ponca City most of their lives. Together they traveled the US for a year and then lived in Chiang Rai, Thailand for two years (2018-2021) Returning to Ponca City in 2021.

In addition to being an artist she is aslo a teacher. After 15 years of teaching, she resigned to open up an art studio and gallery and to pursue her art dreams full-time in 2023.

Artist's Statement

I'm curious by nature which means I dabble in many different mediums. My art is often motivated by a desire to serve others. I often create pieces that I think will resonate with my family, friends, and community. I often say “yes” when asked for an art piece donation toward auctions raising funds for organizations in our community. I love to create public arts that instill pop colors with a nod to our culture.

As an artist and human, I am continually growing. I find inspiration in daily life and in meeting other people and experiencing new things.

I believe art is an act of love and service, to create something for the simple reason of it bringing someone joy.
